About the Course
The Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services (GCHCS) is an AQF Level 8 qualification. It provides a foundational pathway for professionals developing human and community service skills and knowledge. This course emphasises the principles of social justice, human rights, and inclusive practice to address the needs of diverse populations. This course provides essential exposure to various theories and practices in the human and community services field, enabling graduates to prepare for making meaningful contributions to service delivery, advocacy, and community development. The GCHCS introduces students to studies in the human and community services disciplines. Students will be exposed to key issues and opportunities for working in human services. Student will be exposed to various areas to sociology, policy making, indigenous studies and inter-cultural communication. At the end of this course, graduates will be prepared to apply knowledge and skills across a wide range of human and community services issues, enabling graduates to transition into practice. Note that this course is an exit-only qualification.

Qualification
Completed a Bachelor’s Degree AQF Level 7 in any discipline, OR Completed a Diploma or Associate Degree qualification in a related discipline AND a minimum of three years full-time professional experience in the related community and human service fields, such as disability studies, community development, youth work, child protection, family violence, homelessness, housing, humanitarian organisations and similar work experience, AND
A written 500 word statement outlining your interest in studying social work and community services.
English Proficiency
IELTS of overall 7 not less than 7 each band or equivalent.
