About the Course

The APIC Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (GradCertIT) has been designed to provide a solid base in the key foundational areas of information technology. The GradCertIT program permits entry from a broader range of applicants than the APIC Master of Information Technology (MIT), potentially accepting those who do not necessarily hold a fully recognised bachelor's degree. Completion of the GradCertIT allows students to progress to the APIC Master of Information program where students will have the opportunity to further develop deeper knowledge and select specialisations within specific areas of IT. This pathway into the APIC MIT via the GradCertIT program enables those without a previous bachelor's degree in IT to be retrained for a career in IT. The pathway can also offer those with existing expertise in a non-IT field to augment their expertise with modern IT skills and knowledge, presenting new career opportunities by combining both fields, either in an entrepreneurial fashion or in specific IT-focused roles within organisations aligned with the graduates’ previous training and experience.

Entry Requirements

The following admission criteria apply to all applicants to courses at APIC that lead to the award of an AQF Level 8 qualification. Additional English language requirements for international students are provided in the next tab.

Applicants must have:

  • successfully completed a Bachelor degree (AQF 7) or higher awarded by a recognised university or higher education institution or its international equivalent, in any discipline; OR
  • successfully completed an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma (AQF 6) awarded by a recognised university or higher education institution or its international equivalent, in any discipline, AND have at least two- years full-time managerial and/or professional work experience in a related field; OR

  • a minimum of three-years full-time managerial and/or professional work experience in a related field; OR
